Wolves 2-0 Man Utd: Fernandes sent off as Amorim’s side lose third straight game
Manchester United fell to a third defeat in a row as relegation-threatened Wolves moved out of the Premier League bottom three with a 2-0 home win over Ruben Amorim’s side.
Looking to bounce back after their humbling defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, United were frustrated in fogy conditions by a Wolves side playing with renewed confidence under new boss Vitor Perira.
The game was turne on its head just two minutes into the second half when Bruno Fernandes was given his third red card of the season after a second yellow card for a foul on Nelson Semedo.
The home side capitalised shortly afterwards when in-form striker Mattheus Cunha scored direct from a corner.

‘Of course, when you lose, when we don’t win, it’s a step back. It was really hard with the sending off. The goal was similar against Tottenham.
‘Then, we tried. Even with one less guy we tried to and I think we were near something but then Wolves scored the second one. Then, in the end, we tried everything and the transition was 2-0. For us, let’s continue.
Was the first goal a foul: ‘I think he cannot go to the ball. He’s trying to reach the ball and some guys are not even looking at the ball but I don’t want to focus on that. I think the good thing is we were near the goal, even with 10 men. That is a good thing, but we lost.’
