Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admitted it is unclear whether Raheem Sterling will remain at the club after he was left out of the squad for the 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League opener.
The England international’s agent made a statement before the game after Sterling was left out of the first game despite playing regularly in pre-season, which immediately became a hot topic in the media.
Speaking after the defeat to City, Maresca said of Sterling: “I don’t know (if he will stay). The only thing I can say is that it was a technical decision and the next day. We want to sit down and explain the situation, but nothing more.”
“For all the players, they are Chelsea players สมัคร ufabet. If they are Chelsea players. We will try to use them, but it will not be more than a technical decision.”
“I want Raheem Sterling but I also want the other 30 players. We have but there is no space for all of them so some of them will have to go.”
“The only [thing] I can say is that I try always to be honest with all of them. In this moment, probably the noise is more outside, because I am working with 21, 22 players since we are back from the USA. I am not working with 42, 43 players.
“I already said [this] many times, but I can see you like to say that we have 42, 43 players – but more than 15 players, they are training apart. They are not with the team.”
