Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has post an update on his condition on Instagram after he was knock unconscious by Amadou Kone.
On Saturday, Lille won their opening Ligue 1 game at Reims 2-0, but a shocking incident occurred when Gomes was hit hard by Kone during a header, forcing the game to be stop for 20 minutes for medical treatment before being carry off the field.
Gomes recently posted a message on Instagram, updating his condition, saying that he has returned home to continue his recovery.
“Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I’m fine. I’m home, I’m being take care of and I’m feeling good,” Gomes post.
“I just want to thank all the medical staff at the club, all the medical staff at the hospital who looked after me. It was a serious collision, these things happen in football, but the most important thing is that I am okay.”
“We won, we got three points and I just want to thank the fans of both teams, the home fans who support me every week and the Reims fans who have been there, thank you.”
Gomes has now been with Lille for four seasons since his departure from Man United.
The midfielder joined Man United’s youth system at ยูฟ่าเบท the age of six and made his debut for the club’s Under-18 team when he was 14.
His senior debut came in 2017, replacing Wayne Rooney in a 2–0 home win over Crystal Palace.
Gomes final season saw him play just six times in all competitions as he struggled to break into the first XI.
